The brief

Client: Portfolio sample

The job was a creator-style ad for a single product: a tan leather slip-on mule with a contrast-stitched sole. Footwear is hard to sell in a feed. A packshot shows the shape, but not how the shoe looks on a foot, what it goes with, or whether it reads as casual or dressed up. Those are the questions a shopper has in the first few seconds, and a studio photo cannot answer them.

It also had to feel native to TikTok and Instagram Reels — conversational, handheld, set in an ordinary home — rather than like a polished brand commercial dropped into a feed of creator videos.

How we made it

The video opens on the product, not the person. The presenter holds the mule up to the camera while talking straight to the viewer, then turns it side-on so the stitching, the sole and the curve of the upper are all visible. That close-up does the job of a product-page image at the moment attention is highest.

From there it moves to the question every footwear buyer asks: what do I wear it with? The presenter appears in a sunlit living room in a cream tank and wide-leg trousers with a tan shoulder bag, then in a plain white tee and jeans, and finally in a cream knit short set, standing in a doorway with the mules on. A low, floor-level shot of the shoes being worn sits between the outfits, so the product stays the subject even as the styling changes.

The video is AI-produced: no shoot, no location and no creator booking. Because every scene is built from the same product references, the mule has to look identical in each one — the same tan, the same stitching, the same toe shape — and that is what an editor checks before delivery.

Worth knowing

The presenter is AI-generated. She is not a customer, and the ad is not a testimonial. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated content, and this is the kind of video that may need a label.

This is a portfolio sample, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans rather than the history of one order. At 42 seconds it runs past the 30-second limit on the Starter Pack and Growth plan, which puts it on Scale, where videos run up to 60 seconds.
