The brief
Client: Portfolio sample
The brief was a product video for a portable power station: a dark grey unit with an orange carry handle, a digital display showing charge, input and output, AC sockets, USB ports and a vented side panel. Power stations are bought on spec, and the specs look much the same on every listing.
What a buyer is really checking is the build — whether the handle looks solid, how many sockets there are and what kind, whether the display is easy to read — and where they could take it. A catalogue render shows the front face and nothing else.
Showing it for real means a mountain location, a clear day and macro work on a hard, reflective object, where every shot has to be lit to keep the display readable without glare.
How we made it
The video opens close on the handle and the logo with mountains behind them, then pulls back to the unit sitting on a rock in a high valley. That sets the scene before any detail appears.
The middle section is a run of close-ups: the display at 100% with its input and output readouts, a laptop plugged in and charging from it on a wooden table, the power button and an AC socket, and the vent grille on the side. Each shot is a detail a buyer would want to zoom in on in a listing.
The camera then moves around the whole unit on a picnic table, showing the handle, the display and both AC sockets in one frame, under the line “Power wherever you go”.
It closes on the unit on the table against the mountains, with the brand name above it and “More power. More places.” below — the whole story of the product in one frame.
Worth knowing
This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 17 seconds it fits within the Growth plan’s 30-second limit.
Devos Outdoor is an invented brand made for this sample, and the unit is a concept product, not a real one. On client work the product, its ports and its display are built from your own photos and checked against them before delivery.
The video is AI-produced. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated video, and a clip like this may need that label.
