The brief

Client: Portfolio sample

The brief was a launch video for a fragrance in a lilac glass bottle with a silver collar and a plain label. Perfume is the one product a video genuinely cannot demonstrate — there is nothing to show working. What a fragrance ad sells instead is a mood, and the mood has to be established in the first two seconds or the viewer is gone.

That puts all the weight on the set. Traditionally that means a still-life photographer, fresh flowers that wilt under the lights, a marble surface, hours of careful placement and a retoucher afterwards to clean up every fingerprint on the glass. It is a full shoot day for what amounts to one hero asset.

The clip also had to run long enough to breathe. A fragrance video cut to six seconds feels rushed and cheap, which is the opposite of what the category needs — but a longer clip means more seconds in which a viewer can get bored.

How we made it

The set does the work. The bottle sits on white marble surrounded by white orchids, a lilac satin ribbon trailing across the surface and a small dish of loose pearls, all lit soft and high-key so there are no hard shadows anywhere in frame. Every element in the set is in the bottle’s own colour range, which is what keeps a busy still life from looking cluttered.

The camera moves very slowly — a gentle push and drift rather than a spin — and the light shifts across the glass as it goes, so the lilac in the bottle changes depth from one end of the clip to the other. At this pace the movement reads as expensive rather than static.

The label comes forward in the second half, held long enough to read, then the video settles back to the wide styled view. The orchids and ribbon shift a little between shots, which keeps a 23-second clip from feeling like a still image someone forgot to cut.

The video is AI-produced: no photographer, no flowers, no marble and no retouching pass. Because the bottle is generated in every shot, an editor checks that the glass colour, the cap and the label placement stay identical across the whole clip before delivery.

Worth knowing

This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 23 seconds it fits within the Growth plan’s 30-second limit.

The brand name on the label is invented for this sample and is not a real product. On client work the label is built from your own artwork and checked against it before delivery. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated video, and a clip like this may need that label.

This is one of our earlier samples and its master is 480×712, so it plays a little softer than the 720×1280 clips elsewhere on this page.
