The brief
Client: Portfolio sample
The brief was a UGC-style video for the same moss and crystal ring lamp as our lifestyle sample: a black ring on a round base, filled with moss, small mushroom lights and quartz and amethyst crystals. Where the lifestyle piece sells the lamp as decor, this one had to sell it the way a friend would — by opening it and reacting.
Unboxing and reaction videos are how gift products like this get found on social, and they only work if they look unplanned. A polished studio clip in that slot reads as an ad and gets scrolled past.
Getting one for real means finding a creator, shipping them the product and waiting on a self-shot video you have little control over — and if the take isn’t usable, doing it all again.
How we made it
It is shot as a phone selfie from start to finish. A young woman sits cross-legged on her bed in a grey T-shirt with a cardboard box on her lap, talks to the camera and opens it.
She lifts the lamp out and holds it right up to the lens, so the moss, the mushrooms and the crystals fill the frame for a moment. That handheld closeness is the point: it is how a person, not a brand, shows you something they just got.
The video then jumps to night. The room is dark, the lamp is on the bedside table, and its warm light is the only thing lighting her face as she lies back and smiles. That cut answers the question every viewer has after an unboxing — what does it look like switched on?
It ends on the lamp alone, glowing on the nightstand, as a clean final frame.
Worth knowing
This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 20 seconds it fits within the Growth plan’s 30-second limit.
The creator and the lamp are both generated; no real person appears in this video, and the lamp is a concept product. On client work a UGC-style video is built around your own product, checked against your photos before delivery.
The master is 480×854, so it plays a little softer than the 720×1280 clips elsewhere on this page. The video is AI-produced. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated video, and a clip like this may need that label.
