The brief
Client: Portfolio sample
The brief was a short lifestyle video for a decorative ring lamp: a black circular frame on a round base, filled with moss, small glowing mushrooms and quartz and amethyst crystals, with a band of light running around the inside of the ring. It is a gift-and-decor product, and a buyer decides on it by picturing it in their own room.
A packshot on white shows the object but not the thing people actually buy it for, which is the glow. A lamp lit up against a plain background reads as a listing; the same lamp in a dim room at the end of the day reads as a mood, and in this category the mood is what sells.
Showing that normally means a styled interior, a model and a shoot that runs across the day to catch both daylight and evening light — a full day of production for a clip that lasts ten seconds.
How we made it
The video moves the lamp through three places in one home. It opens wide on a bright bedroom, with a woman walking past the bed and the lamp on the nightstand, then cuts to her setting it down and resting her chin on her hand beside it.
The middle section puts the lamp on a desk next to a laptop, with a cup of tea lifted into frame. A close-up through the ring shows the detail a thumbnail can’t: the moss, the mushroom lights and the crystals at the base, with the tea and the keyboard soft behind them.
The last third moves to a sofa corner in warmer, lower light. The lamp sits on a round side table, she reads beside it and reaches over to it, and the final shot frames her face through the ring as the title card comes up.
At ten seconds every shot has one job. There is no voiceover and almost no text, so the clip works muted in a feed and as a looping video at the top of a product page.
Worth knowing
This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 10 seconds it sits well within the Growth plan’s 30-second limit.
The lamp is a concept product made for this sample, not a real listing. On client work the product is built from your own photos and checked against them before delivery.
The video is AI-produced. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated video, and a clip like this may need that label.
