The brief
Client: Portfolio sample
The brief was a short hero video for a sage green electric kettle with a black gooseneck handle and a matching base. A kettle is a considered purchase in a crowded category, and the thing that separates one from another on a listing page is almost never the spec — it is whether it looks like it belongs in the buyer’s kitchen.
That is difficult to show in a photograph. A white-background packshot proves the shape and nothing else. It cannot show the finish catching the light, the weight of the body, or how the colour sits against a dark worktop, which is exactly what a buyer is imagining while they scroll.
The clip also had to work as a loop. A product video on a homepage or a collection page plays without sound, often on repeat, and it has to look intentional every time it comes round rather than obviously starting and stopping.
How we made it
The video holds the kettle in the centre of the frame throughout and moves the world around it. It opens with the kettle on a dark stone worktop with a kitchen behind it — shelves, a wooden counter, a vase — enough context to place it in a real room, kept soft so it never competes with the product.
The camera then circles slowly. As it comes round to the side, the vertical water-level window lights up in a thin white line, and the light strip runs down the body of the kettle. It is a small detail, but it is the one feature a still photo cannot show at all, and it lands halfway through the clip where attention is starting to drift.
Toward the end the background darkens almost to black and fine particles drift through the light, so the last few seconds are pure product: the sage green body, the black handle, the lid and the spout, with everything else gone. The final frame is close to the first, which is what lets the video loop cleanly.
The video is AI-produced: no studio, no motion-control rig and no kitchen set. Because the kettle is generated in every frame of the move, an editor checks that the proportions, the handle curve and the colour hold steady all the way through the orbit.
Worth knowing
This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 8 seconds it fits every plan, including the Starter Pack.
Any lettering on the product in this sample is decorative. On client work we build the product from your own photos and check the badging, finish and colour against them before delivery. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated video, and a clip like this may need that label.
