The brief
Client: Portfolio sample
The job was a short social ad for a blue countertop air-fryer oven. A kitchen appliance in this price range is bought on one question: is it worth giving up the worktop space? A packshot cannot answer that. It shows the box, not the fifteen minutes between hungry and fed, which is the only thing the buyer is actually paying for.
The other problem is that food is hard to film. Getting fries to look right on camera usually means a food stylist, a second batch standing by, and a lot of takes — plus a kitchen to shoot in that does not look like a rental set. For a single social ad, none of that is affordable.
It also had to read as something a person filmed at home. Appliance ads that look like brochures get scrolled past; ads that look like a friend showing you their new gadget get watched.
How we made it
The video opens at the fridge, not the product. A man in a cream tee pulls the door open and lifts out a bag of frozen fries, with the shelves, jars and bottles all visible behind him. It is an ordinary moment, and it sets up the problem the oven solves before the oven has appeared at all.
The middle of the video is the demonstration. The fries go into the blue oven, the door shuts, and the camera moves in close through the glass as they cook — pale and stiff at first, then browning and crisping under the element. That through-the-glass shot is the proof. It shows the appliance working, not a claim about it.
The door then opens on a finished basket of golden fries, with the three control dials and the matte blue body in frame. The video closes on a clean shot of the oven sitting on a white worktop under a window, with the line "Your countertop. Your new favorite oven." on screen — so the last thing a viewer sees is the product in the place they would actually put it.
The video is AI-produced: no kitchen hire, no food stylist and no reshoots for a batch that browned unevenly. Because the oven is generated again in every shot, an editor checks that it stays the same appliance throughout — the same blue, the same dial layout, the same door handle — before delivery.
Worth knowing
The person in this ad is AI-generated. He is not a customer, and nothing in the video is presented as a testimonial. Some platforms ask advertisers to label realistic AI-generated content, and this is the kind of video that may need a label.
This is a portfolio sample rather than a client order, so the production details show what a video like this takes on our current plans. At 10 seconds it fits every plan, including the Starter Pack.
On client work we build the appliance from your own product photos, so the dials, badging and colour match the unit a buyer will receive.
